Target: 20,000 Signatures
We would like to express our thanks to all of those who have worked so hard over the past week to obtain signatures on our petition in favour of retaining the Middle School system in Suffolk.

At the County Council demonstration on Tuesday 16 January, we were able to inform the press and councillors that we had already obtained over 6,000 signatures. This is already more than the total number of people who responded to the Council's own consultation document.

We have been advised that the process laid down by the Suffolk County Council, requires us to give 14 days notice for presenting petitions. Therefore, we have today given the Council notice that we will be presenting the petition at the next full council meeting on 22 March 2007.
Please continue to communicate with your friends, family and the local community and obtain more signatures our petition, a copy of which can be found here. Our aim is to obtain 20,000 signatures.

If you are running a petition locally, please keep us posted on how many signatures you have via the
Feedback Form here.
